What a crown is
A crown is a cap that completely covers the visible part of a tooth. It is used when the damage is too great for a filling or a veneer: large cavities, fractures, weakened root-treated teeth or significant wear.
We work with high-strength ceramics that mimic the translucency of the neighbouring teeth, so the crown is indistinguishable from the rest, even at the front of the mouth.
Who it is for
For anyone with a badly damaged tooth that can still be saved, and for anyone with an implant that needs its crown. Also to replace old crowns with a visible metal edge.
If the tooth cannot be saved, we will explain the alternatives: an implant or a bridge.
How we do it at the clinic
We study the tooth and the bite, first treat any gum or root problem, and take the measurements with a digital scanner. The crown is made to measure and tried in before being cemented permanently.
You receive a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start, and everything is explained in English. You can see crowns fitted at our clinic on the real cases page.
