Dental implants

A titanium root that replaces the root of a missing tooth, on which we fit a crown, a bridge or a full arch.

What a dental implant is

An implant is a small titanium screw that integrates with the bone and does the job of the root of a tooth that is no longer there. On top of it we fix a single crown, a bridge of several teeth, a full arch, or an anchoring system that makes a removable denture far more stable.

Titanium is a biocompatible material that the bone accepts and grows around over time. That is why a well-planned, well-cared-for implant can last for many years.

Who it is for

For anyone who has lost one or more teeth, or is about to, and wants to recover function and appearance without grinding down the neighbouring teeth. Also for people whose removable denture moves and who want more stability.

No two cases are the same: the amount and quality of bone, the condition of the gums and your general health all shape the plan. If there is gum disease, we treat it first.

How we do it at the clinic

Implant surgery is carried out by Dr Alejandro Brotons Oliver, oral surgeon. Beforehand, we carry out a complete study of your mouth, with X-rays and a digital scan where needed, to plan the exact position of each implant.

When the case calls for it, the periodontist, the orthodontist and the restorative dentist take part in the planning. We explain the alternatives and you receive a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start. Everything is explained in English.

After surgery, the implant needs time to integrate with the bone before the final crown is fitted. We see you through the check-ups and the maintenance afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

What is a dental implant?

A titanium screw that replaces the root of a missing tooth. A crown, bridge or denture is then fitted on top.

I am missing a tooth. Which comes first, the implant or orthodontics?

In most cases, orthodontics. Once the teeth are in place we fit the implant to complete the bite.

Can I have orthodontic treatment if I already have an implant?

Yes. An implant is anchored in the bone and can even help to move the other teeth.

How much will it cost?

It depends on your case. After the study we give you a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start.

Does the first visit commit me to anything?

No. At the first visit we listen, examine your mouth and explain your options, with no obligation.
