Do you treat patients in English?
Yes. Many of our patients are English speakers, and we look after you in English from the first phone call to your last appointment. We also speak French.
Does the first visit commit me to anything?
No. At the first visit we listen, examine your mouth and explain your options, with no obligation.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your case. After the study we give you a fixed quote, and it does not change halfway through treatment.

Orthodontics
I am missing a tooth. Which comes first, the implant or orthodontics?
In most cases, orthodontics. Once the teeth are in place we fit the implant to complete the bite.
Can I have orthodontic treatment if I already have an implant?
Yes. An implant is anchored in the bone and can even help to move the other teeth.
Do adult braces show?
Very little. We use clear brackets and aligners, many of them removable, and lingual braces that sit behind the teeth.
How long does adult orthodontic treatment take?
Usually about two years, because adult bone is no longer growing. The study will tell you the timescale for your case.
Is there anyone who should not have orthodontics?
Every case needs to be studied, but generally no. Your gums must be healthy, though: if they are not, we treat them first.
Treatments
What are veneers?
Thin shells of porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth. They improve its shade, shape and size with minimal preparation.
What is a dental implant?
A titanium screw that replaces the root of a missing tooth. A crown, bridge or denture is then fitted on top.
What is the difference between gingivitis and periodontitis?
Gingivitis is inflammation of the gum and can be reversed. Periodontitis gradually destroys the bone and support of the tooth, so it pays to catch it early.
Do you use silver amalgam?
No. We stopped years ago because of its mercury content. We restore teeth with tooth-coloured composite.
How does whitening work?
We combine sessions at the clinic with whitening trays you use at home, for a stronger, longer-lasting result.
Children
Do you see children?
Yes. For under-15s we have a paediatric dentist who knows milk teeth and how to put young children at ease.
Why treat children’s orthodontics early?
Because their bones are still growing. That means we can correct not only the position of the teeth but also improve the profile and the bite for good.
