What we treat
Gum recession leaves the root of the tooth exposed: the tooth looks longer, is sensitive to cold and is left unprotected. With a gum graft we cover that root and restore the lost tissue.
Crown lengthening does the opposite: when the gum covers too much of the tooth (a “gummy smile”) or the gum line is uneven, we reshape its contour so the teeth show their full length, symmetrically.
Who it is for
For anyone with exposed roots, sensitivity or an uneven gum line; for anyone about to have veneers or crowns who needs a harmonious gum margin; and for anyone who needs more tooth exposed so that it can be restored.
As with any periodontal treatment, we first check that there is no active infection.
How we do it at the clinic
It is carried out by our periodontists, Dr Lorena Puchades Román and Dr María Faus Damiá, under local anaesthetic and with minimally invasive techniques. Recovery is usually straightforward and we give you detailed instructions.
You receive a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start, and everything is explained in English. You can see grafts and crown lengthening done at our clinic on the real cases page.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between gingivitis and periodontitis?
Gingivitis is inflammation of the gum and can be reversed. Periodontitis gradually destroys the bone and support of the tooth, so it pays to catch it early.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your case. After the study we give you a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start.
Does the first visit commit me to anything?
No. At the first visit we listen, examine your mouth and explain your options, with no obligation.
