Children’s orthodontics

In children the bones are still growing: it is the moment to guide that growth and improve the profile and the bite for good.

Why start early

While the jaws are growing, appliances can achieve orthopaedic as well as orthodontic movements: they not only move the teeth but guide the development of the bones. That makes it possible to correct crossbites, narrow palates or a set-back lower jaw far more simply and stably than in adulthood.

A first orthodontic check-up at around 6 or 7, when the adult teeth start to come through, lets us spot in time what needs treating and what simply needs watching.

Who it is for

For children with crowded or widely spaced teeth, a crossbite, teeth that do not meet properly, habits such as thumb-sucking or mouth breathing, or early loss of milk teeth.

Not every child needs braces, and treatment does not always have to start straight away. We will tell you clearly whether it is the right moment or better to wait.

How we do it at the clinic

Dr Yolanda Gómez Mascarell, orthodontist, plans the treatment together with our paediatric dentist, Dr Paz Martínez Cano, who knows the child and sees them through the check-ups.

Visits are short and calm, and we explain each step to the child and to the parents, in English. You receive a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start.

Because their bones are still growing. That means we can correct not only the position of the teeth but also improve the profile and the bite for good.

Do you see children?

Does the first visit commit me to anything?

No. At the first visit we listen, examine your mouth and explain your options, with no obligation.

How much will it cost?

It depends on your case. After the study we give you a competitive quote, in writing and by email, before we start.
